Maybe I was wrong about the previous post

I don't think I actually want to have the life that they have, cause I found out afterwards on The Hills.  Lauren actually ditches all her childhood friends for new friends and doesn't talk to the other people anymore... So maybe i'm better off...  Oh well such is life

Ok finally a random post of sorts

Well I went to the Sounds Music and DVD sale.  I got Laguna Beach the first season.  I've been watching it for the past couple days I'm beginning to feel as though I have missed a lot of my life especially in high school.  I should have made an effort to actually spend time making friends.  But it seems as though sometimes I don't think I could have done much better than I did.  Although in saying that I have found that a lot of my friends who were in high school with me are actually still my friends.  Well at the time I didn't actually realise that they would be my life long friends.  But now that I think about it high school friends do last forever.  Well maybe not forever but close...  I miss not being in high school but I don't think I ever missed it when I was actually there.  I guess it's like that with everything you usually hate the things you love the most.  Becuase of the fear of what it will do to you if you let them into your heart.

New Years Resolutions

I really do need to get my act together and start writing in this blog.  It's been neglected over the past half year cause I thought there was nothing in my life and other people could be interested about.  But in fact I think it's probably a perfect place to start it's like a personal psychologist.  Maybe I shouldn't think of it like that too much or else all of you will think i'm completely nuts not that I ain't.

But anyway tomorrows post from work is going to be something to look forward to I think... We'll see.  Well hope all of you who actually read this blog are well and happy

Melbourne - 30 June 2006

Original Map of the Melbourne Train System

All the Lines indicate the train routes I have taken, and the circles are where i've gotten off and had a look around

So, I got up this morning right, after doing all my usual stuff I went out to get myself a travel pass for the day from southern cross station where just the previous day they accepted visa as a form of payment for the $9.70 daily pass. But today no they won't accept it, it's just completely insane how they won't accept credit cards for anything under $10 even if its like only 30 cents off. I'm just complaining cause it's an extreme inconvenience when you're a traveller and all you have is a visa card. In fact I think, this is purely my opinion travellers and cities and countries that rely on cash as a form of transaction, encourages petty crime because opportunistic thieves look for visitors as a target. But anyway after my debacle with the transport sales officers about this problem with their way of doing things, I found a 7-11(oh the savior of my day yet again) which would sell me a met-card. I went to Epping an outlying suburban town about an hour away from the city centre it's quite nice. But anyway here are some photos to keep you entertained, they are photos of the train stations i've been to or stations i've stopped at.

Back posting (U've Been Warned)

So you've been warned the next 10 or so blog entries are back postings, they should have been uploaded before I got home to New Zealand. But I was unable to find an internet connection so that I could post it that's all.. But in saying that the entires should make cool reading, well i'd hope so anyway

INTERNET CONNECTION YEAH!!!!!

So Here is more or less the first post I have since i've been here in melbourne apart from the first day that i had internet, well to be fair I did have internet for around 3 minutes each time at the shopping mall Melbourne Central. I'm actually in a magazine/book store/coffee house thing called Mag Nation right now where there's wireless internet. Well things have been so fun, I've rode on almost every train line since i've been here. There are so many cool places to go it's just insane i haven't been to any tourist places yet but I'm sure if you know i'm not very touristy anyway. I went shopping with a french girl one day which was really cool. Found a place which had chocolate fountains one white and one dark. Then I spent around 2 hours talking to another girl at the backpackers she was from the States but she's really cool.. Finding being on my own in a foreign city kinda interesting and fun but sometimes a little sad. Like the other day when I went to have dinner at a chinese place in Box Hill the people looked at me funny cause I was eating on my own. Well it's not my fault now was it that I wanted to travel. Aside from that I've tried to find the slum of melbourne, there isn't such a thing although there's alot of random angry people on the street whom complain cause i was taking photos but then again that happens in Auckland as well. Apart from that everything here is so much bigger than back home. Prices as well which is a little annoying but what you supposed to do. I'll post some photos later right now i need to get a bed...

Arrived in Melbourne Finally

Lots of photos be patient

Well the flight or there lack of was very entertaining indeed had a flight attendent whom was quite hot, but i never managed to get a photo with her how stupid of me. But in saying that I did have 3 mini sized bottles of wine and that was quite interesting. I like that, watching 1 and a bit movies the first of which is No. 2 a new zealand film, very nice actually i enjoyed it alot but the second one i couldn't finish because we had to land and that was Match Point. Oh that's not really the point of this post or is it. Well I got to Melbourne Airport at around 10:30am Melbourne time, tired as hell because i couldn't control my nerves and get to sleep last night. Anyway after customs I went out to the information desk asking the lady where to catch the bus to melbourne city all she said was over on the curb. Oh come on no one told me it was like a mile down at the domestic terminal. But anyway not about to complain about things that have no relvance to me actually enjoying my time. So I got to the city at a train station called Southern Cross Station, i swear some of this stuff sounds like they ripped it off the british. I mean sure we got britomart but come on Southern Cross Station, or am i just thinking bullshit I don't know anymore I'm so tired. But anyway I couldn't believe how much the people wanted me to pay to use a locker for 24 hours AU$7 for 24 hours of a locker come on that's a total rip off. But you know I had to spend it cause I wanted to walk around town without carrying the luggage around. So got that sorted, then proceeded to go buy a metcard (fancy name for a bus, tram, train card) well when i put it like that it is fancy. But anyway man was very helpful at the ticket counter. Then walking to the side of the road to cross random car stops in the middle of the intercetcion and just stays there and then starts moving when all the lights are red. I was like what, but then I remembered that's right the weird "HOOK" turn thing. Long story short I was totally confused. If that wasn't enough i was even more confused as to where I was. Luckly there are people around every where to ask for directions I ended up on Elizabeth street in the middle of melbourne city, went to get lunch and got told off for taking photos inside a building cause they're worried i'm about to map it out and bomb it. Then went to a discount store that sold electronic equipment and for the first time got inspected on my way out. My god just my luck ain't it, but after that I started meeting really cool australian people the first of which is a girl named Julia (Me and Julia's) she was nice and we started to talk she studys at Melbourne University and so forth and so on. Anyway the conversation was never going to go anywhere but the fact that I was able to start a conversation was enough. Oh yeah did I mention the abudance of women in melbourne man I don't think I've seen so many women in my entire life. I swear this city has more girls than the entire of new zealand put together and they ain't bad either looking wise i mean. After this I started getting really tired so I started heading home the train was fun it's got bits that are underground with like 3 stations that are underground and the rest above it reminds me of germany. Tomorrow I'm going to head to a place called melbourne central it's supposed to be real cool I think maybe, we'll see.

So this is Southern Cross Station in all it's glory

The tallest business building in the southern hemisphere apparantly, The Rialto Towers

Discount chain I think maybe I went to do some minor shopping there for deordent and a packet of allens lollies

Melbourne busking, it's like a nz idol competition to this girl, she wasn't bad though, if only i had change oh wait NZ dollars would do

Melbourne Graffiti

Melbourne Art, what were they thinking... Umm maybe they're all crazy here, that could be quite cool

Leaving on a jet plane, Don't know when I'll be back again

It's the day of the end and the beginning of another adventure, but this time on my own around Australia, the land of the great unknowns. I couldn't sleep for most of the night hence why i'm posting something in the wee hours of the morning just if you're wondering it is actually 4:30am, my flight leaves at 8:30 and I have to be at the airport by 5:30 - 6:00. The problem is I didn't get much sleep the night before either cause I was studying for exams but you know oh well. Life goes on I guess, I can't wait to be on the plane and start drinking, that's going to be an interesting trip I tell ya. Oh yeah just as a note of mention if people who read this find that I'm not posting anything for like 2 weeks that's not normal and you should phone the police and report me as being missing well that is if you want to but otherwise you'll probably find that I will post multiple days at a time and there'll be heaps of photos being added as I find interesting things around. Well here are some of the things I want to find and do. Find a true Aboriginal, have something traditional cooked by them. Try not to be bitten or eaten by any strange creatures they have over there, I've been warned apparently. Find Chinatown and see if it's anything like they say it is in comparisons to Los Angeles. Go to a university lecture or at least a campus and have a drink at the local bar. Walk through a supermarket on the first day. Use 20 cent coins to buy a drink which isn't the right currency. Oh the crap I get up to. This should be fun and hopefully I won't get arrested for breaking the law, if I do please bail me out :-p.
